Imagination could conceive almost anything in connexion with this place.
–H.P. LOVECRAFT, “At the Mountains of Madness”
I draw, I love horror movies, and I play video games while consuming gourmet coffee and/or Pepsi. Married with cats.
The long version:
I’m a Southern belle living in Pennsylvania with my husband and two very spoiled black cats. I like good conversation, excellent coffee and comfortable company.
I love watching movies; I prefer horror, thrillers, and giallo, as well as well-made period pieces (and I’m also a huge fan of Lord of the Rings and Star Wars).
Musically, I’m all over the board. I have too many releases from Cryo Chamber and Projekt and the sadly defunct Cold Meat Industry to count. I also love to listen to Sabaton, Powerwolf, and too many other music things to list here o_o
When I’m not drawing, I’m probably knitting or spinning. Maybe reading. Or cooking. I do cook a lot. Or I might be playing any number of games– I play several MMORPGs and love horror survival.
About the Art:
My art is very personal. I enjoy drawing pin-ups, fantasy (dark and light!), and whatever weird shades drift into my imagination. I’m especially fond of critters– anything strange and unusual will normally make me smile as I go about drawing them.
Back in the early part of the century, I had some of my work published for the now-defunct Khan’s Press and Lethal Comics. I was one of several very talented artists to be featured in “The World of Wraith” artbook by the inimitable Grant Gould. Recently, I designed flyers for Dean’s Harley-Davidson in Sellersville, PA (under new management). I’m now also adding my talents to the efforts of Missing Worlds Media, for the upcoming superhero MMO, City of Titans.
I do most of my art with pencils; what kind I use depends on what effect I’m going for. Most commonly, I use, regular mechanical pencils. Sometimes, I use a variety of drawing pencils, carbon, and colored pencils. I like Canson paper, and my preferred size is 11″x14″ or larger. I also really enjoy drawing on toned paper.
When I work digitally, I’m prone to using Autodesk Sketchbook Pro, Clip Studio Paint, and Photoshop. I use a Wacom Intuos 3 tablet– I am very brand-loyal to Wacom; I used a Graphire 2 tablet for a good 12 years before upgrading to the Intuos. Matter of fact, the Graphire is still going strong, and my spouse has adopted it for his own nefarious purposes. I recently aquired a Samsung ATIV SmartPC, which is AWESOME for art!
About the Domain:
The domain WallsOfEryx.net was registered on May 18, 2004 with 1 and 1, and is hosted at Site Flip. The name comes from the story by H.P. Lovecraft, which is one of my favorites. Check it out– it’s a good read :3
Wow, things do change. After nearly a decade with SiteFlip, I had to stop using their hosting– a spammer was using my email address, and I was getting blamed for the whole thing, plus they threatened to charge me because of what a third party was doing! So on 12/28/2013, I cancelled my hosting and started up with Bluehost. They offered me a new domain name as well, so I went with the name my art site had originally had, so so so many years ago– Pyewackit :3
I used to code everything in Notepad, but you know what they say– the times, they are a-changin’. I was using a b2evolution CMS, but switched to WordPress when my databases kept corrupting.
